KeySwipe (“the app”) lets you operate an Android device from a physical keyboard and trackball. This policy describes how the app handles information.
The app collects and transmits no personal information whatsoever. Specifically, it does none of the following:
The app makes no network connections. It declares no Android permissions at all, so every feature behaves identically with or without an internet connection.
The app runs as an Android AccessibilityService because its features require it. That access is used only for the following.
| Purpose | Details |
|---|---|
| Receiving key input | Reads physical keyboard presses to detect combinations such as Ctrl+arrow. On Android, an accessibility service is the only component that can receive physical key presses made outside its own window. Input is never recorded or stored. |
| Reading screen content | Reads the on-screen structure of the launcher (Pixel Launcher) to locate the cards and icons in the recents list and app drawer. The positions and app names obtained are used only for the selection in progress; nothing is stored or transmitted. |
| Performing gestures | Reproduces swipe gestures on screen in order to switch apps and scroll content. |
| Reading pointer movement | Reads mouse and trackball movement, only while the scroll modifier key is held, to drive scrolling. |
The app does not read or record any text content, including anything typed into password fields. Reading is limited to the element positions and app names described above.
The app stores the following settings only on the user's device. They are never transmitted anywhere.
| Item | Details |
|---|---|
| Enabled state | Whether the app as a whole is enabled, and whether Ctrl+↑/↓ are enabled |
| Scroll settings | Chosen modifier key, speed, acceleration and direction inversion |
These are removed when the app is uninstalled.
